Greenery with a side of florals, please

Poems, painters, and writers have all linked gardens to romance throughout history. As a result, it’s understandable that couples would want to spend the most romantic day of their lives surrounded by nature in all its glory. Quintessential British Summertime

Garden parties have a timeless quality about them and that’s why we love them. The environment, the tiny details, the décor, and the overall vibe is whimsical, magical, and romantic. Who wouldn’t want that on their wedding day! The perfect season for a garden party is summer of course. Fresh floral, pretty pastels and even more florals are the basics of a garden party wedding. In recent years outdoor lounges have also become a huge staple in these weddings. As with any wedding theme you have to think outside the box, you along with your wedding suppliers need to start off with the basics and expand to create something perfect for your day.

Picking out the venue for your day is a big task, no matter the wedding theme. But if you plan on doing the garden party theme, look out for spaces with high ceilings, big windows to let the sunshine flood in and of course what the garden is like. Of course, having your wedding in a garden is the most ideal setting. You won’t need to add more floral arrangements because your venue will be beautiful even without décor.

So, how do I do a garden party wedding?

Florals are the best place to start when it comes to décor, but here are some other great ways to incorporate them into your décor:

. Place cards: Use pressed flowers to create the cutest place cards to help guests find their seats!

. Indoor Florals: Having a garden party doesn’t need to be an outdoor event, using pastel centrepieces will give you that outdoor to indoor vibe

. Wear your florals: You could have your bridal party in a mismatched ensemble, or you could wear a floral gown for something different to the white dress

. Baskets of Blooms: Have a flower market aisle with wicker baskets full of all your favourite flowers!

. Lots of Garlands: You could have garlands from the ceiling, down your aisle, on your table, you can have them anywhere!

. Linens: Floral linens as table runners are a great cost-effective way to have florals without paying the price of fresh florals.

How to look the part

You obviously want to have a cohesive theme for your day and looking the part is a crucial step. Think whimsical, airy, and light. Choose something with not a lot of structure. Having a garden party is supposed to be a relaxing atmosphere for you and your guests, so if you’re constricted by an uncomfortable corset or a huge ball gown you can barely move in you won’t be able to enjoy your day as you should. You could even incorporate the pastels into your outfit by having shades of pink hidden in lace details or sparkles. Let your locks flow with loose waves and opt for makeup with a natural hue. And of course, the perfect blush that compliments your skin tone for the ultimate blushing bride look!
