We recently came across this stunningly spooky Halloween themed wedding shoot and just had to share it with you. The inspiration behind the shoot was ‘Midnight Romance’. Having this inspiration and theme led to the thoughts on colours. Burgundy was a must. This was then followed by other warm tones such as the browns of the suit. The colours of the flowers then complemented this theme, especially when the blues and greens of the model’s hair were bought in too.
A fantastic team of suppliers were bought in to create the stunningly spooky Halloween themed shoot. However, there was one surprise guest in the form of daisy the Skunk. She was the highlight of the shoot and definitely had to be featured in a few of the shots for this shoot.
The venue was found by photographer Liz who came across it during a walk in the summer months. It’s a brilliant space with lots of natural light. The texture of the ferns and fallen leaves just added to the theme of the shoot. The lovely warm tones created the perfect venue for a small outdoor wedding with a Halloween and slightly gothic feel. Both of these themes suit an outdoor wedding perfectly.
Lisa Wiles Keepsakes of Yaxley flower-ed up the venue. She took inspiration from the woodland around the area and stuck to the romantic and gothic theme perfectly. Locally grown dahlias and amaranthus were used, matched with seasonal grasses, berries and ferns. Adding in the rich reds and golds of the roses really added to the romantic feel of the stunningly spooky Halloween themed shoot. The decorative flowers worked beautifully at complementing the beautiful woodland setting and surrounds.
Meanwhile, the wedding bouquet was designed by Louise of Wild Frost Café. She used flowers that offer rich warm tones and shades. Sticking to the burgundy colour that originally inspired the stunningly spooky Halloween themed shoot, she added in gentle tones of peach roses to lift the colour. The silvery green tones of the eucalyptus then gave the bouquet a wilder feel, which fitted with the surroundings.
The model for the groom was dressed by The Vintage Suit Hire Company. They provided a worsted wool jacket and waistcoat that offered a really nice earthy and brown autumnal colour. The tweed suit worked really well, but not just in the colour. As the weather got colder, the tweed suit really helped keep the groom warm for this outdoor wedding shoot. The suit was matched with golden mustard accessories. Again, these complemented the theme of the wedding and the suit perfectly.
The Brides Accessories
The headdress was provided by Victoria Louise; a company that focus on the modern and unconventional bride. They were the perfect supplier for this stunningly spooky Halloween themed shoot. The headdress elevated the look of the bride and gave the look that final flourish to match the style of the wedding and the personality of the bride.
The Brides Make-Up
Paige Richards Freelance Make Up Artists was our go-to lady for the bride’s make-up. She took inspiration from the spookily romantic vibes of a Halloweens night sky. Paige used a colour palette with rich dark blues and purples, adding in sparkle for the stars in the night sky. The elegant edge on the eye matched with the dark lip, bought the look together perfectly for this stunningly spooky Halloween themed shoot.
The Brides Shoes
Inanna Bespoke Shoes are known for helping brides who struggle to get excited about bland, off the shelf shoes. She used a stunning rose design to fit with the midnight romance feel of the shoot and to connect with the beautiful bouquet. The very subtle pocket watch tied in with the detail on the grooms suit and the skull on the jacket was a nod to the theme of the outdoor wedding shoot too.
The Brides Dress
Shades of White provided us with a sparkly and slinky dress which work wonders to show off the amazing figure of our beautiful bride. Shades of White work with their brides-to-be to help them find their dream dress and we definitely feel they did a great job when they chose this dress.
The Brides Hair
The colours and shades of the bride’s hair were stunning, so it was down to Charlie of Charlie Darlow Hairdressing and Bridal to show off the length and colour. While tight curls are more common for wedding hairstyles, Charlie chose to use a natural wave and to fluff the hair, so the length of the hair was not lost. Charlie knew that the sides had to be taken away from the face to show-off the make-up and she needed to incorporate the beautiful headpiece too. As you can see, she did a phenomenal job of this.
The Wedding Props
The moon and stars seat, backdrop and sign were provided by Letters Aglow. They really jumped on the stunningly spooky Halloween themed with a gold leaf star and moon set, a copper backdrop and a hand carved ‘til death do us part’ sign. The moon and stars seat matched the Halloween and autumn theme perfectly. Meanwhile, the sign bought a classy but dark element to the shoot and theme which worked really well in bringing the outdoor wedding shoot together.
Hall and Co Event Design supplied the table, rugs and cushions for the stunningly spooky Halloween themed wedding shoot. The beautiful cushions added colour to make the shoot pop. Meanwhile, the Persian rugs and the table set off the autumn and Halloween details of the shoot perfectly and really added to the atmosphere and feel of the outdoor autumn wedding.
Samantha L Jackson then supplied the beautiful skull and bones details that can be seen throughout the shot. These were small and simple touches to the wedding that can be seen through the shoot. They really added to that spooky Halloween midnight feel of the shoot.
The Wedding Stationery
The style of the wedding shoot had to be incorporated into the wedding stationery to bring the wedding together and set the scene for potential guests. Graceful Lace Stationery used rich berry shades for those bold colours of autumn. To add a feeling of luxury and elegance she used vellum and acrylic with foiled and UV printing techniques. The non-traditional hexagonal shape of the wedding invites bought the gothic theme to life and showed guests exactly what they were in for.
The Wedding Cake
Setting out on the burgundy theme this was a colour that Heather Keen of Keen for Cakes knew she had to use. She put in beautiful flowers with golden marbling details that again, just added to the feel and theme of the Halloween wedding. Smaller cakes with autumnal berries sat on the table setting to once more, add to the autumnal and Halloween theme of the outdoor wedding.
